On November 19, UN office in Uzbekistan conducted a seminar, devoted to the planning of the new UN Framework Program for Cooperation in Uzbekistan for Sustainable Development for 2021-2025, with the participation of representatives of the association of SOS children's villages of Uzbekistan and civil society, as well as UWED student and youth, who left care.
The purpose of the consultation meeting was to discuss and identify priority areas and strategic areas of UN cooperation with Uzbekistan for 2021-2025 in the context of achieving the national Sustainable Development Goals and taking into account the mandate and comparative advantages of the UN system.
Representatives of the association of SOS Children's Villages Uzbekistan actively participated in various interactive sessions and discussions, emphasizing the importance of improving alternative care forms of and social orphanhood preventing system. During the seminar, the association’s co-workers together with students and youth came up with proposals, aimed at developing child protection, enhancing the well-being of orphans and children without parental care, and improving the help provided to children at risk of social orphanhood.
