Currently, under the leadership of the government, large-scale reforms and measures are being taken to ensure social stability, protect the interests of all layers of youth and create adequate conditions for realizing their potential.
In particular, on August 30, 2019, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution No. 824, which envisages implementation of comprehensive measures to improve alternative care forms, prevent social orphanhood of children without parental care and strengthen the institution of the family.
In this regard, this year on 18-19 November, the Ministry of Public Education, together with the Association of SOS Children's Villages Uzbekistan, the General Prosecutor's Office, the Scientific and Practical Research Center "Oila", the Republican Center for Social Adaptation of Children and the Republican Center for Vocational Guidance and Psychological and Pedagogical Diagnostics, held a training seminar on "Problems of organizing preparatory courses for adoptive parents."
The event was organized with the aim of analyzing the problems of social adaptation of orphans and young people leaving care, as well as preparing recommendations for addressing them. During the seminar, the coordinator of the youth center of the association’s Tashkent program delivered a lecture on “Social adaptation of youth leaving care”.
SOS Children's villages of Uzbekistan plays an active role in ensuring well-being of children, protecting their interests and meeting their needs as well as continues to contribute to enhance social protection systems of children and young people without parental care. In accordance with the roadmap approved in the framework of the National Concept for Strengthening the Family Institute, our organization is honored to take one of the leading roles in improving the alternative care system in the country.
