SOS Children’s Villages Uzbekistan Welcomes the Adoption of the Law "On the Protection of Children from All Forms of Violence"
SOS Children’s Villages Uzbekistan warmly welcomes the adoption of the new Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the Protection of Children from All Forms of Violence".
This law represents a significant step in strengthening the legal framework for child protection and creating conditions to ensure their well-being and safety.
The law addresses a wide range of forms of violence, including physical, sexual, and psychological abuse, neglect, exploitation, and bullying. It enshrines key principles of child protection such as humanity, non-discrimination, prioritizing the best interests of the child, and restoring the rights of victims of violence.
This law defines the list and powers of entities responsible for protecting children from all forms of violence. Moreover, it identifies categories of children at risk of violence, including orphans and children left without parental care, who are included in this list.
SOS Children’s Villages Uzbekistan fully supports the goals of this law and reaffirms its commitment to protecting children from violence. We will continue to collaborate closely with government agencies, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of the law and the protection of children’s rights and interests.
The adoption of this law not only strengthens the national legal system but also reaffirms Uzbekistan’s commitment to adhering to international standards in the field of child rights protection. We believe these efforts will lead to the creation of a society where every child can grow up in a loving, caring, and safe family environment.
